SEEK Conference Replay:  The recent National Seek Conference held in Salt Lake City has offered, for free, the video recordings of the Keynote Addresses and more.  See the links below.  I would recommend especially #245 also featured below and I will likely make more suggestions in the coming weeks.

https://seekreplay.com

https://seekreplay.com/video/245:  Fr. Philip Bochanski: A Radical Invitation – ‘Sharing the Church’s Teaching About Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity.’  “We must always listen before we speak. The best beginning to any pastoral conversation is, ‘Please, tell me your story. I want to know who you are. I want to hear where you’ve been. I want to hear where you want to go. I want to hear what’s in your heart.'”

Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible.  We will be meeting again this Wednesday at 6:00 PM and covering Session 7, Maccabean Revolt and Messianic Fulfillment.

Pilgrimage Talk:  Our very own Garry Domis and his son recently went on an extended pilgrimage to Portugal and he will be sharing the adventure with us next Sunday after Mass in the social hall.  All are welcome.

Lenten Message on Abortion Healing

Bishop Daniel E. Thomas of Toledo, Chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities issued a message in advance of Lent: “I pray that God plants a seed of hope in every heart that is overwhelmed by sadness and despair from participation in abortion. This Lent, the Lord’s mercy awaits you. Allow Him to heal you and lift your sadness into joy.”

Homily Reflections:

  1. 1  Gen. 15:7  The same Lord who brough Abram out from Ur of the Chaldeans to possess the Promised Land has given to us our land of America.  We too, have been called to be a Holy People who brings God’s Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding to bear in our land.  Where do we see God’s presence most obvious in our culture?  Which idols or false gods are most prevalent in America?  In your own life?

2  Psalm 27 tells us to, “Wait for the LORD with courage; be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.”  How is God making you wait during this season of Lent?  What are you most hoping for at Easter?

3  Lk. 9:35 “Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”   Reflect over the past decades of your life.  When have you heard most clearly to ‘listen to the Son?’  When have you felt most convinced that you too are God’s chosen son or daughter?
