Homily Reflection Questions:

In today’s gospel (Mt. 13) when the disciples asked Jesus why he teaches the people in parables, He answers, “Because knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been granted to you, but to them it has not been granted.”  Since we are all disciples, what knowledge of which mysteries do we hold that others cannot grasp?  How does this knowledge differential affect our relationships with them?  How do we share our knowledge of the mysteries?

What seeds have you sown that scorched quickly?

What seeds have you sown that rooted deeply and bore much fruit?

What does St. Paul mean (Romans 8) when he says that ‘all creation is groaning in labor pains’?

What is the nature of OUR groaning and when does it finally stop?
