Diocesan Development Drive Our new goal for 2026 is $11,500. WE ARE OVER HALF-WAY THERE!! As of 6/30/26, thirteen households have pledged $7810 with $6150 paid in. It would be great to have a fuller participation than the 17 parishioners we had last year. Thank you in advance.

Social Hour after Sunday Mass – Coffee, juice and bagels or muffins are served up along with some fabulous conversation.
Catholic Social Teaching: Pope Leo is encouraging us all to consider the Church’s systematic approach to living out our role as a Holy People in a world of increased technological complexity. The timing for this new emphasis could not be more perfect as we celebrate 250 years of American Independence and confidently look forward to more opportunities for enhancing the freedom God has bestowed on us. Catholic Social Teaching can keep us pointed toward the Kingdom of God and not get unduly distracted by our individual pursuits of the American Dream.
Please join us on Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 7PM for a brief overview of the major themes of Catholic Social Teaching. This week we will cover Solidarity and Care of Creation. We will then venture into a more focused reading of Pope Leo’s encyclical Magnifica Hunanitatis. (a click away; see below).

St. Christopher Endowment: Did you know that St. Christopher’s Parish has an endowment with the Utah Catholic Foundation? It was started with a donation from the parish in 2020 with an initial corpus of $5000 and is intended for general parish use. The fund has now over $35,000 with interest and additional donations as of 5-30-26. The fund is set up as ‘Permanent Restricted’ which means the corpus stays in the fund, but the earnings are available to the parish annually as needed. If you would like to make a donation to our endowment for the long-term care of St. Christopher’s, please contact Fr. Rick for further details.

Gift Shop Please check out the exciting new items in our religious gift section as you are enjoying some post-Mass refreshments. It’s quite likely you might find something that a loved one doesn’t already have. It also could be a great way to evangelize. Most young people are interested in angels and saints, rosary beads and other devotionals. Anticipate an upcoming birthday. Take a risk and gently instruct a non-religious child, grandchild or great-grandchild. PRAY that rosary a couple times before gifting it to someone. Let yourself be seen sipping your favorite beverage out of your new “Pray, hope and don’t worry” porcelain mug. The prospects are truly exhilarating!
Homily Reflection Questions
The readings today all allude to the basic tenant of Christianity: To give your life completely over to the will of God. Consider the citations below from today’s readings. If we speculate that a person, by the time they have reached the age of 50 years old, would likely know what is most important to them, how would you describe your journey of changing priorities during your life? What pearls have you most valued? What were the consequences of seeking and achieving those pearls? What today is your ‘pearl of great price’ and how do you stay focused on maintaining that priority? How has the value of the pearl increased or decreased over the years of your life? This is your testimony.
If you are under 50 years old, how confident are you that you are building your life on a strong foundation of beliefs and habits? What are your commandments or precepts? Who most influences your lifestyle? As in Ps. 119, are the precepts that you are following really taking you forward to the point that you actually HATE every false way? What is your pearl of great price? How have you determined that your life decisions are working according to God’s purpose?
