Our next OPEN-DOOR SATURDAY is August 15, 2026 from 10:00 AM-Noon. If you have friends or relatives that are interested in the Catholic faith, or are thinking of returning to the Church, please tell them about us and have them stop by. We would love to meet with them! OPEN DOOR is scheduled every first and third Saturday of the month.

Diocesan Development Drive Our new goal for 2026 is $11,500. WE ARE OVER HALF-WAY THERE!! As of 6/30/26, thirteen households have pledged $7810 with $6150 paid in. It would be great to have a fuller participation than the 17 parishioners we had last year. Thank you in advance.

Collection for Retired Religious…Most of those who have given their lives in service of the Church now need our help more than ever in their advanced years. Please be you usual generous selves.
Online Healing Retreat Do you recall that the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are Sacraments of Healing? ALL sin wounds us and inhibits our own experience of God’s love, but also the love we are able to share with others. Today Jesus tells the disciples (and us), “You give them something to eat.” Many others need the sustenance of our healing touch. Please consider signing up for this retreat. “When we talk about healing, we often think first about wounds, relationships, memories, suffering, and rightly so. But sometimes healing requires us to look at the things that we have allowed to slowly crowd our lives, our homes, and our calendars. All are distracting us from who we are and the life God is asking of us.” (From the Preview video on this website).
Catholic Social Teaching: Pope Leo is encouraging us all to consider the Church’s systematic approach to living out our role as a Holy People in a world of increased technological complexity. The timing for this new emphasis could not be more perfect as we celebrate 250 years of American Independence and confidently look forward to more opportunities for enhancing the freedom God has bestowed on us. Catholic Social Teaching can keep us pointed toward the Kingdom of God and not get unduly distracted by our individual pursuits of the American Dream.

St. Christopher Endowment: Did you know that St. Christopher’s Parish has an endowment with the Utah Catholic Foundation? It was started with a donation from the parish in 2020 with an initial corpus of $5000 and is intended for general parish use. The fund has now over $60,000 with interest and additional donations as of 7-30-26. The fund is set up as ‘Permanent Restricted’ which means the corpus stays in the fund, but the earnings are available to the parish annually as needed. If you would like to make a donation to our endowment for the long-term care of St. Christopher’s, please contact Fr. Rick for further details.

Gift Shop Please check out the exciting new items in our religious gift section as you are enjoying some post-Mass refreshments. It’s quite likely you might find something that a loved one doesn’t already have. It also could be a great way to evangelize. Most young people are interested in angels and saints, rosary beads and other devotionals. Anticipate an upcoming birthday. Take a risk and gently instruct a non-religious child, grandchild or great-grandchild. PRAY that rosary a couple times before gifting it to someone. Let yourself be seen sipping your favorite beverage out of your new “Pray, hope and don’t worry” porcelain mug. The prospects are truly exhilarating!
Homily Reflection Questions
1 Today’s gospel is the perfect stewardship lesson. Gather what you have, offer it to God and watch God meet the needs of all with abundance left over. Which of your gifts are you most holding back? Who needs this gift? How can you further develop this gift?
2 Psalm 145: “The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness….The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.” When did you feel like you were in real trouble and maybe even deserved to be punished rather severely… but you called upon the Lord for protection and you felt His great mercy and kindness. Take a few moments of silence this week and sit with these memories while thanking God from the bottom of your heart. Then pray for God’s mercy on someone else who may be in a real moment of fear and trouble.
