FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

While not everyone is a gifted preacher who can inspire others, we are all “preachers” in a sense. We “preach” by the way we live our lives – how we handle the ups and downs that are part of living. These “sermons” speak more eloquently than any words we could say. Remember, “The only gospel some people will ever read is You.” What are they reading? Is it what you would like them to read? Does it inspire, encourage, and give people hope? What can you do to become a better “preacher” of the Gospel?

I do all that I do for the sake of the gospel

in hope of having a share in its blessings.

– 1 CORINTHIANS 9:23

CURRENT MASS PROTOCOLS CONTINUE:  Per Diocesan policy in accordance with current public health recommendations, the people (except liturgical ministers serving in the sanctuary) must wear cloth face masks upon entering the church until they depart. Masks will remain on the face throughout the whole Mass except while receiving communion. Saint Christopher will offer Mass for up to 28 persons at each Mass, with seating at six-foot distances required. Groups of 4 or more worshippers are asked toarrive at least 20 minutes before Mass begins, to be seated per distancing protocols. Any Mass that you attend during the week will satisfy your Sunday obligation. As always, the greatest concern is for each person’s health and safety, thus it is up to each person to make the decision that is best for them and the community. Please consult our website or call the parish office with any questions. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

FINANCIAL REPORT FOR JANUARY 30-31, 2021:  Offertory $640 /  Church in Latin America (20-2217) $50 /  Donations Mail $95 /  Christmas $250 /  Mass Intention $10 /  5th Sunday Poor Box Collection $464 = $1,509.

Next week, we will take up the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports the Church in more than 20 countries that still struggle to recover from Communist rule. Funds from this collection support pastoral care, catechesis, building renovations, and seminary formation. Your support restores the Church and builds the future in this region. Prayerfully consider how you can support the collection next week. More information can be found at www.usccb.org/ccee. PRAY FOR THE SICK: Please offer your prayers and your special intentions for: Roberta Champlin, Elizabeth Curtis, Denise Drinkwater, Nancy Goebel, Sandra Kirkland, Catherine Lazara, Patti Lindh, Louann Marocchi, Tom McDonnell, Aileen and Jim Norton, Loretta Ozga, Michael and Colleen Petullo.
