Our next OPEN-DOOR SATURDAY is Sept. 5, 2026 from 10:00 AM-Noon.  If you have friends or relatives that are interested in the Catholic faith, or are thinking of returning to the Church, please tell them about us and have them stop by. Diocesan Development Drive Our new goal for 2026 is $11,500. AND WE ARE OVER!!!  As of 7/31/26 fourteen households have paid in $11,450 and $1,360 pledges outstanding.  Remember that we get a rebate for the amount we collect over our annual goal.  THANK YOU!!

PRAY FOR HEALING: Abigail Mays, Eva Montelongo, the homebound, vitims of warfare and natural disasters, Our Wounded Veterans.  If you have specific prayer requests, please leave us a phone message or send us an email.  We will include your intentions on the list.  We also remember all the sick and infirm at our daily Masses.

Catholic Social Teaching:  Pope Leo is encouraging us all to consider the Church’s systematic approach to living out our role as a Holy People in a world of increased technological complexity.          

Please join us on Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 7PM as we venture into a more focused reading of Pope Leo’s encyclical Magnifica Hunanitas. We will discuss Chapter 1 of the encyclical.  “…It is the task of the People of God ‘to listen attentively, to discern and to interpret the various languages of our time’, so that revealed truth may be proclaimed in forms suited to historical circumstances. St. Christopher Endowment:  Did you know that St. Christopher’s Parish has an endowment with the Utah Catholic Foundation?  It was started with a donation from the parish in 2020 with an initial corpus of $5000 and is intended for general parish use.  The fund has now over $60,000 with interest and additional donations as of 7-30-26. The fund is set up as ‘Permanent Restricted’ which means the corpus stays in the fund, but the earnings are available to the parish annually as needed.  If you would like to make a donation to our endowment for the long-term care of St. Christopher’s, please contact Fr. Rick for further details.

Gift Shop Please check out the exciting new items in our religious gift section as you are enjoying some post-Mass refreshments.  It’s quite likely you might find something that a loved one doesn’t already have.  It also could be a great way to evangelize.  Most young people are interested in angels and saints, rosary beads and other devotionals.  Anticipate an upcoming birthday.

Women’s Day of Reflection at St. Dominic’s Chapel Women of the parish are invited to participate in a one-day Day of Reflection on Saturday, September 26 from 9:00 AM to about 4:00 PM.  St. Dominic’s Chapel is located near the entrance of Bryce Canyon National Park. Along with Mass, and a variety of prayer opportunities we will be discussing sections of the book, The Persistent God:  A Guide to Deepening Prayer, by Albert Haase, OFM.  If interested, contact Fr. Consider a Pilgrimage to Salt Lake City! The Utah Catholic Conference will be Saturday, Sept. 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Skaggs Catholic Center, 300 East 11800 South in Draper. The cost is $35. Doors will open at 8 a.m. for registration. The opening Mass will begin at 8:30 a.m. Visit https://dioslc.org/ucc2026 to register or for information.  Perhaps a comfy stay at a swanky or reasonably priced hotel on Friday and Saturday and attend Sunday Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeline.  If you’ve never been there, you really ought to visit.

Homily Reflection Questions

1   Is. 56:6-7 “All who keep the sabbath free from profanation
and hold to my covenant, them I will bring to my holy mountain
and make joyful in my house of prayer.”   How do you keep you Sabbath free from profanation?  What was your most holy or joyful experience in one of God’s houses of prayer?  Just curious:  what was your most annoying experience?

2  When have you ever experienced or witnessed a genuine spiritual healing?  How did that affect your life?  With whom did you share the experience?

3  Mt. 15:26  Why do you suppose Jesus tested the woman’s faith so harshly by his pointed tone and verbiage?
