St. Christopher Endowment: Did you know that St. Christopher’s Parish has an endowment with the Utah Catholic Foundation? It was started with a donation from the parish in 2020 with an initial corpus of $5000 and is intended for general parish use. The fund has now over $60,000 with interest and additional donations as of 7-30-26. The fund is set up as ‘Permanent Restricted’ which means the corpus stays in the fund, but the earnings are available to the parish annually as needed. If you would like to make a donation to our endowment for the long-term care of St. Christopher’s, please contact Fr. Rick for further details.
Reporting Abuse: If you observe or have reason to believe that a child, young person or vulnerable adult has been subjected to abuse by a priest, deacon, employee or volunteer of the Diocese of Salt Lake City, you must report the alleged abuse to local law enforcement and state agencies, and you must notify the Diocesan Office of Safe Environment at safeenv@dioslc.org or call 801-328-8641, x344. https://www.dioslc.org/safe-environment

Homily Reflection Questions
1 Mt. 18:22 Jesus answered, “I say to you, (you must forgive) not seven times but seventy-seven times.” What was the greatest number of times you ever forgave a single person? How did your understanding and definition of forgiveness change during this process?
2 Why is marriage sometimes referred to as the ‘school of forgiveness’?
3 Rom. 14:7-9. “None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For
if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord.” Are you
living for the Lord? How do you know you are living for the Lord? Who helps
keep you on track? Who holds you accountable? Who supports your life
dedicated to the Lord?
4 MT. So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives your brother from your heart.” How have you prepared your heart to forgive from the heart?
CCC 2562 According to Scripture, it is the heart that prays. If our heart is far from God, the words of prayer are in vain.
CCC 2563.”The heart is our hidden center, beyond the grasp of our reason and of others; only the Spirit of God can fathom the human heart and know it fully. The heart is the place of decision, deeper than our psychic drives. It is the place of truth, where we choose life or death.
5 Ps. 103:3-8 “The Lord is kind and merciful, slow to anger, and rich in compassion. He pardons all your iniquities, heals all your ills.”
How do you square this with:
Sir. 28:3 The vengeful will suffer the LORD’s vengeance, for he remembers their sins in detail.
Forgive your neighbor’s injustice; then when you pray, your own sins will be forgiven.
Could anyone nourish anger against another and expect healing from the LORD? (Today’s first reading) and
Mt. 18-35 “Then in anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back the whole debt.
So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives your brother from your heart.” (Today’s gospel)?
