TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Our human nature finds it very difficult to accept God’s way of doing things as “just.” Many of Jesus’ parables tell us that God does not judge things the way we would. God knows our hearts and understands our struggles in a way even we do not understand ourselves, much less anyone else. There is nothing to be gained by trying to measure our “goodness” nor comparing it to others. Our focus should be on how well we are trying to follow Jesus and leave the rest in the hands of our merciful God.
Your ways, O Lord, make known to me: teach me your paths.
MASS PROTOCOLS AS OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2020: Per Diocesan policy, in accord with current public health recommendations, the people (except liturgical ministers serving in the sanctuary) must wear cloth face masks upon entering the church until they depart. Masks will remain on the face throughout the whole Mass except when receiving communion. Saint Christopher’s will offer Mass for up to 28 persons at each Mass, with seating at six-foot distances required. Any Mass that you attend during the week will satisfy your Sunday obligation. As always, the greatest concern is for each person’s health and safety, thus it is up to each person to make the decision that is best for them and the community. Please consult our website or call the parish office with any questions. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
FINANCIAL REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 19-20, 2020: Offertory $1,095 / Donations Mail $60 / Renovations & Improvements $285 / Priests’ Retirement (20-2209) $150 / Holy Land Collection (20-2203) $405 = $1,995.
Our next OPEN DOOR SATURDAY is October 3, from 10:00 AM- Noon. It is scheduled every first and third Saturday of the month. If you know someone who may be interested in coming back to the Catholic Church, or who is simply interested in what we are about, please spread the word that we would be more than happy to speak with them.
Next weekend we will be accepting donations towards our Renovations and Improvements Fund. Use your numbered gold envelopes for this specific offering and place them in the marked basket at the back of the church. Thank you for your support.
