Homily Reflection Questions

  1. 2 Sam. 5:1-3  “King David made an agreement with (the elders of Israel) there before the LORD, and they anointed him king of Israel.”  Most bible translations use the term ‘covenant’ rather than ‘agreement’.  What is the difference and which word is better?

    2. Col. 1:13  “He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son…”  What was the darkest moment in your life and how did you begin to once again see the light?  Who guided you?  How did your life change?  Who guided your new life?

    3. What do you think was the darkest moment or period the United States history?  How were we ‘transferred to the kingdom of God’?  Or were we?

    4. For what are you most thankful this year at Thanksgiving?

    5. What was your most memorable Thanksgiving?  Who was there with you?  What was on the menu?  What did you prepare or bring to the meal?
