Our next OPEN-DOOR SATURDAY is January 17, 2026 from 10:00 AM-Noon. If you have friends or relatives that are interested in the Catholic faith, or are thinking of returning to the Church, please tell them about us and have them stop by. We would love to meet with them! OPEN DOOR is scheduled every first and third Saturday of the month.

Diocesan Development Drive (DDD) We currently have received pledges totaling $11,425 with $11,283 paid in toward our goal of $9000. So far 17 out of 75 (?) families have participated. Thank you!! Remember we get a rebate for the amount paid in over our goal.

If you have specific prayer requests, please leave us a phone message or send us an email. We will get your intentions on the list. We also remember all the sick and infirm at our daily Masses.
Community Rosary: After the Monday morning Mass
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Thursday 4 to 5:00 PM.
Rosary with Psalms of Lamentation: Fridays at 5:30 PM
Social Hour after Sunday Mass – Coffee, juice and bagels or muffins are served up along with some fabulous conversation.
The Catechism at a Glance: A Visual Overview of the Foundations of Our Faith. Each Thursday in the social hall at 5:30 PM. Session 12 will resume on January 8th on the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick.

St. Christopher Endowment: Did you know that St. Christopher’s Parish has an endowment with the Utah Catholic Foundation? It was started with a donation from the parish in 2020 with an initial corpus of $5000 and is intended for general parish use. The fund has now over $8000 with interest and additional donations as of 11-30-25. The fund is set up as ‘Permanent Restricted’ which means the corpus stays in the fund, but the earnings are available to the parish annually as needed. If you would like to make a donation to our endowment for the long-term care of St. Christopher’s, please contact Fr. Rick for further details.
Ministry Training and Day of Reflection: January 24th. All Mass ministers: Eucharistic Ministers; Lectors; Ushers; Musicians are invited (required actually) to join us for a Day of Reflection and Training on Saturday, January 24th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. These trainings and Days of Reflection are an ongoing requirement to keep us sharp and focused on the very important ministries. It would be nice if you could come to the 8:00 AM Mass and then enjoy a cup of coffee and a heart healthy breakfast item, prior to Lauds and the first conference.
Women’s Retreat: January 30-31.
Just Rest: Receiving God’s Renewing Presence in the Deserts of Your Life, by Sonja Corbett. A Study of the Exodus. https://www.amazon.com/Just-Rest-Receiving-Renewing-Presence/dp/1646800869 St. Christopher’s women are invited to join the St. Gertrude and St. Sylvester’s women for a retreat right here at St. Christopher’s. The retreat will begin on Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM and end on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM. The out-of-town retreatants will be staying overnight at a local hotel. The retreat will be organized around a reading of the above book which some of you may have already read from a previous recommendation. Please reserve this on your calendar and order the above book. If you prefer, Fr. Rick will order the book for you. Price for the book is $15.
Homily Reflection Questions:
- Christians, like the magi in today’s Gospel, are a people ‘called out’ of our familiar places and relationships. Describe the extended faith journey you have taken when you risked leaving behind the familiar for a deeper experience of the abundant life God has promised you? What gift did you give to God and how has that affected your life?
- The Magi were not deceived by Herod, but persevered in their quest for the real king? Who was your king or queen (or god?) in your 20’s? In your 30’s? In your 40’s? 50’s? 60’s? 70’s?
3. Psalm 72 decares that God will endow the king with God’s justice and shall govern the people with justice (and) and the afflicted ones with judgment.
How can we know if our ‘king’ is building a kingdom of true justice and peace? What clues does Psalm 72 give us?
4. What does the Kingdom of God look like? How can we help build such a Kingdom starting today? Please be as specific as possible. Make this a meditation for the week.
