Pastoral Messages from Fr Rick – 10/30/21

Adoration of the Blesses Sacrament – Thursdays from 4 – 5:00 PM.

Covid Advisory:

The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City passed along this message from the Utah Department of Health:  “The data are clear, providing booster doses can help prevent COVID-19 related hospitalizations and deaths,” said Dr. Leisha Nolen, state epidemiologist for the Utah Department of Health (UDOH). “With hospitals still operating at full capacity, and with the winter months just around the corner, the timing is right to seek out a booster dose if you qualify. It also remains critically important that people who haven’t been vaccinated go get their vaccine now.”              Please consult your health care providers for further advice.

All Saints Day is Monday, November 1st.   This year in our Diocese we do not recognize it as a Holy Day of Obligation.  We will have Mass at the regular time of 8:00 AM.  Please Come.

All Souls Day is this Tuesday. – If you would like to have your deceased loved ones specifically remembered at Mass, please record their names in the notebook available in the entry of the church.  The book will then be prominently displayed at the All Souls Day Mass.

Pray for an End to Abortion – Join Catholics and Protestants across the country coming together online to pray for the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case.  This is the case that could overturn Roe v. Wade—the Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in all 50 states.  November 18, 2021.  More on this later.  Also see – https://www.prayfordobbs.com

PLEASE GIVE US ALL YOUR MONEY!!  (Please chuckle a little)

Diocesan Development Drive.  Perhaps I should start by saying a big THANK YOU(!).  We are VERY close to reaching our goal for the Bishop’s Annual Appeal (The Diocesan Development Drive –DDD).  Presently we are only $37 short of our $9,500 goal (pending possible adjustments to the final figures).  Thank you for making this ‘easy’!

Thank you for your generous contributions to last week’s annual special collection for the world missions on World Mission Sunday.  We collected $672 and counting!

As mentioned on the reverse side, today is FIFTH SUNDAY and we will be taking up our collection for the Community Outreach Fund (formerly St. Vincent’s Charity Account)  most of which gets shared locally with the Care and Share food bank and other selected efforts.

Next weekend, November 6 & 7, we will take donations for the Annual Navaho Holiday Outreach.  As with last year we have committed to send $1000 to the Holiday Outreach.  The collection will provide special food items and other necessities and fineries to ensure a more joyful holiday season for especially elder members.  Any short fall from this collection will be made up from our regular Community Outreach fund.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development – Collection will be taken up later on November 20-21.

Intermountain Catholic Newspaper – Remember, October is renewal month and I KNOW you must have $25 left somewhere.  Check beneath your car seat or maybe between the cushions at home.  God loves you!!

ALL YOUR MONEY might be the easier part … in today’s gospel Jesus tells us He wants ALL our Heart, ALL our Soul, ALL our Mind and ALL our strength….
