Pastoral Messages from Fr. Rick August 14, 2021

Salt Lake Diocese Religious Education Conference  SAVE THE DATE – SEPTEMBER 18th.  New Format.  More info to come…..

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Christopher’s happens on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.  Please join us.

Diocesan Development Drive – Our goal this year for the Bishop’s Annual Appeal (Diocesan Development Drive, DDD) is $9500.  Thank you to the 16 persons who have so far paid in $5692.  Being such a large distance from the center of Catholic life in the Salt Lake Valley we can sometimes forget how utterly dependent we are on the larger Catholic population for our very survival and livelihood.  Our beautiful little church and other facilities would not exist without the organizational, administrative and fund raising expertise of the Diocese.  They also provide the salary compensations for a full-time sacramental presence in Kane County (little ‘ol ME), ongoing economies of scale for insurance, safe environment, physical plant safety and financial systems support.  It’s also essential to remember that we are part of a larger mission – to the world – to teach and evangelize.  Our ongoing support of the Diocese gives us a clear and practical way to participate in the larger mission of our Church.  This is a very generous little community and a very important part of the Utah Catholic mission.  Please make a donation today and encourage others in the parish to donate as well.  THANK YOU!

Our Office Presence:  With the departure of our six-hour-per-day office secretary, we are now covering basic office functions with a small group of dedicated volunteers.  This transitional period will allow us to re-evaluate the essential needs of the parish, how to optimize our use of resources and to hopefully prepare the way for any future adjustments to our local mission that God may have in mind.  Please know that we are checking phone and email messages daily and will respond within 24 hours or sooner in most cases.  Thank you for your support and patience.

Parish Bulletin – We may be refashioning our parish bulletin a bit during our current transition to achieve a more user friendly format.  Please let Us know if you would like other types of information in the bulletin.  The number of bulletins that are picked up each weekend varies widely, so remember if we run short you can always check us out at kanabcatholicchurdh.org.  IT’S ALSO A GREAT PLACE TO GET A SECOND LOOK AT THE INSPIRING AND DEEPLY INSIGHTFUL HOMILY FOR THE WEEK!
