WELCOME FATHER DAVE!!

Fr. David Bittmenn was born in 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Tooele, Utah for most of his childhood, except for a year spent in Aurora Colorado.

Around 7th or 8th grade the idea of a becoming a priest arose. The idea lingered in mind for several years. Each time it came to mind, it would be acknowledged as one good and worthy vocation but only one among others. After graduating from the University of Utah in 1989, the possibility of priesthood still lingered. At that time Fr. Dave decided to deal with the lingering thought of priesthood by applying to the Diocese to attend seminary. If either the Diocese or the seminary rejected him as a candidate for the priesthood, the thought of becoming a priest could be put to rest. Much to his surprise, Fr. David was not rejected by either the Diocese of Salt Lake City or the seminary to which he was sent, the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He was ordained by Bishop William K. Weigand at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in 1994.

As an associate priest in residence, Fr. Dave served at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Park City, Milford, and Saint Ambrose in Salt Lake. As pastor, Fr. Dave has served in Saint Patrick parish in Salt Lake, Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Orem, and since August of 2019, Saint George parish.

“I’m glad to be here and look forward to serving in Southwestern Utah.  God Bless.”  Fr. Dave  11/2020

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, our pastor Father Dave plans to celebrate our Masses the weekend of January 30, 2021 here at Saint Christopher. Welcome Father Dave!
